Childish Pelosi: My Branch is Better Than Trump's
Updated: Feb 29, 2020
Sara Carter shared that during an interview with Robert Costa for Washington Post Live, Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was asked whether Congress is functioning as a coequal branch of government.
“I think we’re a superior branch, quite frankly,” Pelosi said. “We have the power to make the law and the president enforces the law. So we have a big role. We’re closest to the people and we have a big role to play.”
"The U.S. Constitution defines three separate, but equal, branches of government: legislative, executive and judicial. Is that separation of powers which creates a system of checks and balances." Carter told us.
It comes as no suprise that Pelosi is lying-again, from another perspective.
She is fully aware that it is the special-interest groups in the Council of Foreign Affairs that actually tells committees what to write in major bills. She takes special-interest money as speaker to get their bills passed. She represents government, in the same way people like Maxine Waters do, that is not "closest" to the American people but fleeces the public in favor of elite multi-nationals. Her government is only close enough to the American people to pick their pockets.
Pelosi represents special interests, like big pharma and health insurance, that are big players in the Deep State, and donate heavily to her campaign fund.
JUST PASS IT!
In March of 2010, at the Legislative Conference for the National Association of Counties, Nancy Pelosi, who was Speaker of the House at the time, made yet another partisan pitch for the Affordable Health Care Act. The bill comprised well over 2,000 pages. Few debates had ever captured as much of the nation’s attention for so long. On the line was how to spend up to a trillion per year of the tax-payers’ money. Perhaps it was because she was frustrated, or perhaps it was because she couldn’t make a convincing enough argument, or perhaps it was because she received $316,300 that year from health professionals, and could count on a total of $1,440,867 from 2008 to 2018 to add to her net worth of over $100,000,000. She said these infamous words that quickly went viral:
“But we have to pass the [health care] bill so that you can find out what’s in it....”
Speaker Pelosi had confirmed how our government works behind the scenes at its highest levels in 16 words of a huge mistake. Special interest groups make a lengthy, over-complicated bill that is intentionally drafted that way, so that it’s nearly impossible to read, much less interpret. They donate money to the Speaker and others, and Congress works to get it rubber-stamped so it becomes law.
Democrat Congress members and a few wavering Republicans didn’t need to bother to read or understand the bill, dare less question it, they just needed to vote for it. The results were easily predicted, the special interest groups will get richer at the public’s expense, and the bill won’t do what they told the public it will do. Sure enough, once a form of the bill passed, taxpayers did not get to keep their original doctors as President Obama himself had promised, premiums doubled for many, choices were reduced for insurance plans, and deductibles were raised. The top three health care insurers, tapping into the $500,000,000 in government subsidies, soon had record profits to boast about to Wall Street. Pelosi and Congress had shown us our how government really works as a highly corrupted and manipulative machine whose arrogance and selfishness far outweighed their will to serve the people.
